Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you create an account and use Coach Harvey, we collect:

• Account information. Your email address and an encrypted password (handled by our authentication provider, Supabase).
• Player profile. Information you choose to enter in settings — handedness, skill level, typical miss, primary goal, years playing, practice frequency. All optional.
• Swing videos. Videos you upload to Coach Harvey for analysis. These are stored in our cloud storage (Supabase Storage) and used only to generate your coaching analysis.
• Pose data and analysis results. Frame-by-frame body keypoints extracted from your swing video, the detected faults and strengths, the coaching directive, and the conversation history with Coach Harvey about that swing.
• Usage analytics. Anonymous events about how you use the product (page views, uploads, chat questions). After you sign in, these events are linked to your email so we can debug issues for specific users when asked.

How we use it

• To analyze your swing and return coaching feedback.
• To remember your past swings so the next coaching call can reference them.
• To improve the product — fix bugs, understand drop-off, prioritize features.
• To respond to support questions you send us by email.

We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use your swing videos to train third-party AI models.

Who we share it with

Coach Harvey relies on a small number of trusted vendors. We share only the data each one needs to do its job:

• Anthropic (Claude API). Pose data, swing context, and the prompt for each analysis are sent to Anthropic to generate coaching responses. Per Anthropic’s API terms, this data is not used to train Claude.
• Supabase. Hosts our database, authentication, and video storage.
• Vercel. Hosts the Coach Harvey website and runs server-side code.
• PostHog. Captures product analytics events.

We will never share your data with anyone else without your permission, except where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep your swing history for as long as your account is active. This is intentional — Coach Harvey’s value comes from remembering every session you log so it can spot patterns over time. If you delete your account, we delete your account information, swing videos, pose data, and conversation history within 30 days.

Your rights

You can, at any time:

• Request a copy of all data we have about you.
• Ask us to correct data that’s wrong.
• Delete your account and everything in it.
• Export your swings to take with you.

Email coach@coachharvey.ai with any of these requests and we’ll respond within 30 days.

Children

Coach Harvey is intended for users 13 and older (16 and older in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland). We do not knowingly collect data from children below these ages. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.

Automated decision-making

Coach Harvey uses AI (Claude, by Anthropic) to generate swing analysis, coaching directives, and answers to your questions. This is automated processing of your data. It does not produce legal or similarly significant effects on you — it is coaching advice for your golf game. You can request a human review of any specific coaching response by emailing coach@coachharvey.ai.

For users in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland

If you live in the European Union, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR give you specific rights and require us to identify the legal basis on which we process your data.

Legal bases for processing

• Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)). Storing your account, analyzing your swings, generating coaching responses, and remembering your history are all necessary to provide the service you signed up for.
• Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)). We process anonymous usage analytics, error logs, and security telemetry to keep the service running, debug problems, and protect against abuse.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)). Where we ask for it explicitly (for example, optional marketing emails), we rely on your consent and you can withdraw it at any time.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)). When we have to disclose information to comply with a valid legal request.

International data transfers

Coach Harvey is operated from the United States. When you use the service, your data is transferred to and processed in the U.S. by us and our sub-processors (Anthropic, Supabase, Vercel, PostHog). We rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) as the legal mechanism for these transfers, which our sub-processors have signed. Your additional rights

In addition to the rights listed above, you have the right to:

• Access — get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectification — ask us to correct inaccurate data
• Erasure — ask us to delete your data (the “right to be forgotten”)
• Restriction — ask us to pause processing while we investigate a complaint
• Portability — get your data in a portable, machine-readable format
• Object — object to processing based on legitimate interests
• Withdraw consent — for processing that depends on consent, withdraw it at any time
• Lodge a complaint — with your local data protection supervisory authority. A list is available at edpb.europa.eu.

For California residents (CCPA / CPRA)

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act and the California Privacy Rights Act give you specific rights regarding your personal information.

Categories of personal information we collect

In the past 12 months, we have collected the following categories of personal information from California residents:

• Identifiers — email address
• Customer records — your player profile (handedness, skill level, primary goal, etc.)
• Internet or network activity — usage analytics, IP address, device information
• Audio, electronic, visual information — swing videos you upload
• Inferences — coaching analysis and pattern detection drawn from your swings
• Sensitive personal information — account credentials (email + password hash). We use this only to authenticate you and provide the service. We do not use or disclose it for any purpose that would require us to offer a “Limit the Use of My Sensitive Personal Information” right.

We do not sell or share your personal information

Coach Harvey has not sold, and will never sell, your personal information. We also do not “share” your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under California law. We do not display a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link because we do not engage in either practice. We also honor Global Privacy Control browser signals as a valid opt-out request, even though we have nothing to opt you out of.

Your California rights

• Right to know — what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and (if applicable) sell
• Right to delete — request deletion of your personal information
• Right to correct — request correction of inaccurate personal information
• Right to opt out — of the sale or sharing of your personal information (not applicable, as we don’t)
• Right to limit — the use of sensitive personal information (not applicable, as we only use it to provide the service)
• Right to non-discrimination — we will not deny service, charge different prices, or provide a different level of service because you exercised your CCPA rights

To exercise any of these rights, email coach@coachharvey.ai. We will verify your request by confirming the email address associated with your account. You can also designate an authorized agent to make requests on your behalf in writing.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we’ll update the effective date at the top of this page and, when appropriate, notify you by email.
